Our Story
The story of Hooked on Books Childcare started with family, as many great origin stories do. Yolanda Massey, once an interior designer by trade, realized her passion for child development early in life. While studying to become an interior designer, she spent her extracurricular hours with her niece and nephew, teaching them key school preparedness before they began kindergarten.
That was nearly twenty years ago. Since then, Yolanda has expanded her certifications, expertise, and business to dedicate her life to caring for children ages six weeks to five years. Now, a seasoned childcare expert, Yolanda has a proven track record of preparing children with the essential knowledge and skills they need to feel comfortable and ready to enter school.

Philosophy & Mission
We believe every child should have access to quality care and enrichment. We believe in the formative power of creative exploration, community building, and individualized attention.
See here for more information on how you can apply for financial assistance through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
